Adhesive for metal leg and glass table top? Needs high strength, and to dry clear. Super glue failed.?

I am looking for the best adhesive to bond a metal leg to a glass table top. The adhesive must be very strong since there are moving leaves that cause a high torque to the table-leg bond, and also it must be clear since the table top is glass and the adhesive will show. It may be difficult to use a thin layer since the leg and table top seem to have a slight gap, which makes me wonder if a disc of some clear, soft material should be placed between the leg and table top. Super glue did not work, and none of my searches have yielded a good answer.Adhesive for metal leg and glass table top? Needs high strength, and to dry clear. Super glue failed.?
you can get this compound that you mix together that's called SUPER MEND it comes in two containers that you mix equal parts of each ingredient. be careful because it get real hot when starting to work. it dries white and you have to use it right when it is real hot because it sets up fast but it is real strong stuff that will not give, break, bend or anything.Adhesive for metal leg and glass table top? Glass, being nonporous is tough to get anything to stick to. Your best bet is a clear silicone adhesive, but even this will pull away. It will depend on how much surface area the leg has to stick to the glass as to how long it will last. The more you can increase this the better.
I would recommend a clear epoxy. Check the glue aisle at your local hardware store like Ace. Something like this Devcon 2-ton should work fine.
araldite is pretty good

I'd like to know of an adhesive or paste that will stick on glass as a clear hard substance please.?

rear view mirrow adesive here is a list of differnt glues you can buy.

http://www.nextag.com/rear-view-mirror-a鈥?/a>I'd like to know of an adhesive or paste that will stick on glass as a clear hard substance please.?
Silicone based glues like E-6000 will be clear if thin, and are somewhat flexible once dry.

Clear ';cements'; will be clear, but won't be flexible.

Clear epoxy glues will be clear** but won't be flexible (though stronger than cements, especially for the ones with longer setting times).

**some could have a slight brownish or yellowish tinge (and most will if left in the sun or other UV light a long time, unless coated with a UV resistant polyurethane, etc.), but the 30-minute setting Devcon one is very clear, I hear

(Not sure what the ones intended for car mirrors are... probably an epoxy glue though.)

Does anyone have a source for 1';-3'; clear hot pink non-adhesive tape or streamers?

I am looking for something akin to hot pink/magenta cellophane, mylar, poly or saran, pre-cut into 1';-3'; strips at least 25 feet long, with no adhesive backing.

The color must be a deep pink, not red or purple, and the material must allow light to shine through it (translucent or transparant.)

PVC flagging tape would be ideal if it were more translucent. Cellophane or lighting gel plastic would work if it were thin strips instead of big sheets.

I need something I don't have to cut myself.Does anyone have a source for 1';-3'; clear hot pink non-adhesive tape or streamers?
I looked around for 2 days for this one.....nothing yet. So far your best bet is to buy the 24'; colored cellophane rolls that I'm sure you saw on your searches. Your challenge should be to work with that, but come up with a way to cut it the way you need it. If I knew how to post a drawing here I would. You need to make a wooden stand with a roll holder, like a butcher with butcher paper. But you need a hinged bar with razor tips in it that lowers and locks in place so when you pull on the sheet, it gets cut to width. Are you handy with making your own jigs?Does anyone have a source for 1';-3'; clear hot pink non-adhesive tape or streamers?
Sorry I had the answer for you till you said flagging tape needs to be more translucent.

Good luck, maybe try a different light source on the flagging...

Adhesive bra or strapless/clear strap?

i have a backless yet low neck shirt, i was thinking an adhesive bra but it seems as though it would fall off easily, do you think im better off using a regular strapless/clear strap bra?Adhesive bra or strapless/clear strap?
The adhesive ones arent that good i find, a clear strap bra is what i would use,Adhesive bra or strapless/clear strap?
NEITHER. Stick ons are uncomfortable and serve no purpose. Clear straps are tacky, and strapless bras mishape you and give horrific visible bra lines. When the designer made that top, I can promise he or she didn't have a bra on the model walking down the runway. You are not supposed to wear a bra with it. I'll never understand American women's obsession with their nipples, as if the hint of them under your blouse will make men go crazy or blind or something. No other civilized country in the world has this odd obsession.
yh the clear strapped is best you can move as you like

Adhesive stickers that are a clear or white (about 1/2'; wide) with a small black dot (about 1/8';) in center

Do any such stickers exist?Adhesive stickers that are a clear or white (about 1/2'; wide) with a small black dot (about 1/8';) in center

I'm sure they do exist. And I think I saw them at Biz-Mart or Office Depot or was that at Target? Mmmmmm . . . .

I am seeking clear, self-adhesive laminating sheets (cheap), non-machine, that you can peel off &stick?

I used to buy them in stores like K-Mart when I was young back in the 1970's. I believe you could buy them in rolls and in individual sheets. I am NOT looking for POUCHES, just the clear sheets. I would like to find some either 8X11 page size or on a roll that I can cut with scissors. I also DO NOT want the film that is used with laminating machines.

Oh, and I used to be able to find a type of sticky on one side paper that had silver, shiny color on the other side. If anyone knows where I can get either or both of these types of materials, that would be great!I am seeking clear, self-adhesive laminating sheets (cheap), non-machine, that you can peel off %26amp;stick?
Frisk film is sold in art stores and comes in a tablet of pages. There is also rolls of clear film that you can find in most any department store where they sell shelf liners. The roll is about 2 feet wide and sells for around $8.00. The kind I bought is called contact paper and is easy to cut with scissors.I am seeking clear, self-adhesive laminating sheets (cheap), non-machine, that you can peel off %26amp;stick?
Laminating sheets are readily available in the office section of most stores like Kmart, Wal-Mart and the like. Also in a lot of drug stores like Longs and Walgreen's. I also have found that clear shelf paper work wonders to laminate things and cover books.

  • What clear sealer/adhesive would be durable enough to seal in glitter on a pair of shoes?

I'm making a pair of ruby slippers. The first pair I made I used a clear sealer that i think was recommended for sealing acrylic paint. I put down a layer of acrylic paint on the fabric, then sprayed with sealer and pressed glitter in. Then sprayed with sealer again and pressed in more glitter. Then finished with 2 layers of sealer on top. This first pair is adequate but i think the sealer i used doesn't hold too well. the glitter isn't falling off a whole lot but everywhere i go i find a few glitters on the floor but I do like that it dried hard. This second pair I'm making I put down acrylic paint, then some general purpose spray adhesive and pressed glitter into that then sprayed more adhesive and pressed glitter into it and finished with another layer of the adhesive. The adhesive is drying into a gum like stuff. How do I salvage these shoes? If it dries into a gum it will get indented or even get chunks of glitter ripped off. Can I cook the shoes in the oven or set near a heater to make the adhesive hard? I want something clear that i can use as the final layer that will dry hard, hold the glitter in, and be durable enough for the stress of being on a pair of shoes.

i did allow each layer to dry for 24hrs before adding the nextWhat clear sealer/adhesive would be durable enough to seal in glitter on a pair of shoes?
I would let time tell if those shoes will lose their stickiness and dry out or ';cure';. In the future use ';tacky glue'; it is really sticky white glue perfect for you project and then just one good coat of glitter.I wouldn't spray but if you must use clear gloss polyurethane spray. Don't do it in a cold place if you want it to dry well as these things don't dry or apply well under certain temps....put in sun to dry or in a warm WELL VENTILATED PLACE. Sounds like you have been applying glitter too thick with the wrong things for adhesive... too thick. good luckWhat clear sealer/adhesive would be durable enough to seal in glitter on a pair of shoes?
Yes as long as you did not walk in the rain.

Hi, I can't remember what you call it. but you can get tranparent film of various thickness. for printing on. Letraset do one type. I used to buy it from Granthams in preston. But any specialist graphic design suppliers should stock it. its very common for mock ups in product/graphic design.

you can also get stuff on a roll. designed for spray painters called low tack.Rainbow Glass adhesive clear film???
Why doesn't she paint on glass.? after all that is what the paint is meant for. Or she could buy acetate sheet as used in drawing animated films these are called cells and possibly from photographic suppliers .This is quite thin ( like thick paper ) She could also get unbreakable acetate sheet from DIY supplies.this would be more like the thickness of glass. Good luck

You're welcome. Thanks for picking my answer. I didn't think my answer was better than Vella's or the others, but I'm glad it helped. If the link made the difference, then I did a good thing. Good luck.

In addition to the above answers, you can also find them at office depot and drug stores like CVS.
    Jo-Ann Fabrics.
I goto Hobby Lobby and Micheals a lot for that kinda stuff. And also scrapbooking stores are good to find specialty stuff like that.
Michael's or AC Moore craft store is where I get mine. Any where that sells scrap booking supplies is a good bet. I like to use the corners a lot for displaying photographs of my completed work.

I have a CF hood that I am clearing. I am using acrylic clear. Do I need adhesive promoter?

Last time I used acrylic it dried rough and it wasnt smooth. the only clear I can find is acrylic. It could have been too hot and I might have not sprayed enough/too far away. Should I use adhesive promoter or what should I use?I have a CF hood that I am clearing. I am using acrylic clear. Do I need adhesive promoter?
I'm assuming you are painting over a painted surface already coated with a urethane so yes, use an adhesion promoter because polyurethane coatings have terrible recoat properties. Pick an adhesion promoter that is recommended by the manufacturer of the paint you are using. Also, remember to paint in a low humidity environment.

If you really want it to look good, take it to a paint shop like maaco or something and have them spray it with a clear coat of polyurethane. Acrylic lacquer like what you're about to use will disintegrate (cracks, yellowing, etc...) in a comparatively short period of time.

Need a clear and strong adhesive for cellophane please help tyty?

I put together a project with cellophane. I used art paste but i think i might like to have another adhesive over it and under it. Does anyone know which adhesive would be great for keeping (slippery) cellophane glued in place, while drying clear?? I am thinking decopauge or elmers glue with water mixed in....any ideas?? would hai rspary work??tytytytyNeed a clear and strong adhesive for cellophane please help tyty?
    Pepatong,

Elmer's glue, or similar glues would work for a limitled period of time. Decopauge could work, too, maybe for even a little longer. Glues like Liquid Nails or similar would work for very long times. You get those in hardware stores.

I need to know what kind of glue or adhesive I can use that dries very fast and clear.?

I'm planning to attach Christmas tree lights to a dead branch.I need to know what kind of glue or adhesive I can use that dries very fast and clear.?
E-6000. It dries in a few minutes, is clear and holds forever. I used it to glue beer bottle caps onto the wood of my garden shed and they are there forever. It also won't melt in the sun and can stand cold temps well below freezing. You can find it at craft stores.I need to know what kind of glue or adhesive I can use that dries very fast and clear.?
Super glue would be the obvious choice, because it is the first thing you think of when people say ';fast drying glue.'; For your project, though, I would use a glue gun. Go to your local craft store and ask for a glue gun. They have some really cheap ones.
    I love Gorilla Glue
Yup Super Glue can be a solution, but what if you want to store your xmas lights again? you'll have to store the branch as well :), what I sugest you is to use simple and common Plastic Wire Ties, like the one you use to close plastic bags and stuff ...why? because they'll hold long time and you can deattach your lights, store it again and get rid of the branch as well, good luck!!!
Try some Araldite 5 minute glue , it is strong drys clear and easy to use. just mix equel parts and apply
    super glue
super glue dries way too fast. i would use a hot glue gun, but practice a bit before, because it can get pretty messy and you end up with gobs and gobs of extra glue.

rubber cement may work as well, but im more confident with glue gun.
I was gonna say super glue

THANKSI need to print clear, adhesive labels at home...?
You should print one that says ';D!ckhead'; and put it on your head.I need to print clear, adhesive labels at home...?
Any computer store should carry the clear label material. (You may need to trim it after printing if you can't find sheets with the size labels you want.) All I've found is for inkjet printers only. I haven't found any that works with color laser printers, although I've been told there is some out there.

If you want it to be a really permanent label, spray a thin coat of clear paint/laquer over it. (The same technique as used in decoupage.) This will not only stick the labels down better, but will keep the ink from rubbing off.

What can get rid this adhesive that is on the clear, thin plastic protector of a picture frame (see details)?

Try toothpaste or mayonnaise, one of them should work.
100% pure silicone spray (hrdwr store), it will melt the adhesive without staining.

Stuff called Goo Gone, available from Target, Wal-Mart and other such places.
    rubbing alcohol or lighter fluid

What is the best clear lace wig bonding adhesive?

I am having a hard time finding one that will not show. I am spending way too much money and it looks horrible. all i want is one that does not show around the edges when i put it on.What is the best clear lace wig bonding adhesive?
Your application process could be flawed if your glue is always showing. Does this mean you have already tried clear glue such as Ultra Hold? Most of the white glues in the U.S also dry clear. Make sure you are doing a proper clean up after you put on your unit. Go around your edges and hairline with a cotton ball soaked in 90%+ Alcohol, or a non oily adhesive remover such as PURE. Also, if you are also using tape in conjunction with your glue, make sure to only use it on the sides and back of your unit because when it dries it leaves a shine. Hope this helps!

Which laser jet printer is best for printing clear vinyl adhesive paper for small decals?

Most any laserjet printer will work fairly well. The best kind would probably be one that had a way to run the paper through the printer in a straight path rather than have it make turns internally, this will help keep the decals from peeling off inside the printer when it makes turns in the paper path. Make sure to use paper stock that is rated for laser printers to avoid any fusing problems and follow any of the paper manufacturers recommendations about setting the printer's fuser settings if any. Newer printers have fuser settings just for label stock so that the temperature settings are appropriate.

Best of luck.Which laser jet printer is best for printing clear vinyl adhesive paper for small decals?
I don't think this is a good idea as the vinyl will burn and damage the fuser

Would appreciate any tips and info.thanksWhat is the safest way to isolate 2 pcs of glass attached to each other using optically clear adhesive?
It would depend of course on the nature of the adhesive, but it sounds like soaking them in a hydrocarbon solvent like xylene or toluene might be the best bet. Acetone might do it for some adhesives, but in general hydrocarbons are broader range adhesive solvents.
